LD-WL8-IN is a wireless single channel monitored Input Module for use within a Kentec wireless lockdown system. Each input will be allocated to a wireless address between 11 and 20, these addresses have been preconfigured to play Voice Annunciator message 1 across the system when the input is activated. This allows the inputs to be used to provide remote lockdown activation points around the site. The input can monitor the status of a volt free changeover contact such as a key operated switch or a Manual Call Point type device.

Compatible with Wireless Lockdown Translator and Expander Modules once activated the Input Module provides a signal to the translator which in turn will activate the Voice Annunciators to play the correct lockdown message through the Voice Annunciators. The input is fully monitored for open and short circuit fault conditions and in either condition will activate a failsafe Output Module (LD-WL8-OUT-FS) on the wireless system when a fault exists. The LD-WL8-IN is also monitored for communication, tamper and low battery voltage fault states and will activate a failsafe output module (LD-WL8-OUTFS) on the wireless system when a fault exists.

An LED status indicator is provided on the Input Module, in default setting this LED will be off in Standby mode and will only indicate when the output is active by flashing red. The LED can be configured to flash green to indicate Standby mode and yellow to indicate a fault state if required, however this will reduce the battery life. An optional backbox is available (KM-BOX-02) which can be used for mounting the Input Module. This is an ABS enclosure which provides an enhanced IP rating (IP65) and a smoked see through lid.

This product has been created following the introduction of the Terrorism Act 2025 (Martyn’s Law)  brought in following the terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena where 22 people died and hundreds  more were injured, many under the age of 16. The act is designed to improve safety at public accessible  locations and introduces a duty of care for venue operators, requiring them to put proportionate  protective measures in place to safeguard the public. The Kentec Wireless Lockdown Notification  System provides the broadcasting of clear and concise voice messaging to building/site occupants in  the event of an emergency which requires Lockdown of the building/site. The system provides manual activation and broadcast of voice messages for Lockdown activation, covert lockdown activation, and All Clear events. 

The Wireless Lockdown Notification System is based on the established K-Mesh Wireless Fire Detection product range with minor modifications in functionality to meet the requirements for Lockdown notification. This provides users confidence in the performance and reliability of the system.
