LD-WL8-TRH is the central control module for the Kentec Wireless Lockdown system, it communicates with the other Wireless Lockdown Devices on the system monitors their status and controls any cause and effect between input and output devices. Up to 126 radio field devices can be connected to the LD-WL8-TRH this consists of up to 16 Input Modules, 4 Output Modules and 106 Voice Annunciators with VADs. The Translator Module has been pre-configured with allocated addresses for these devices for simple setup. Details of address allocations are shown on page 2 of this datasheet.If the LD-WL8-TRH is connected to a Lockdown Indicator Panel it will be powered via the loop connection.

If the system is not using a Lockdown Indicator Panel the LD-WL8-TRH will require a battery backed power supply such as the Kentec STX2401-C. Two status indicator LEDs are provided on the Translator fascia which indicate the status of the isolator and the radio communications.

Configuration of the Wireless Lockdown Notification System is performed using the K-MESH configuration software. The wireless system uses well proven adaptive radio signal processing algorithms along with self-optimising wireless amplitude and frequency technology providing the highest levels of life safety and system reliability.

Two internal antennae are included in the translator which reduce radio signal fade and ensure reliable communication. Where additional space is required for installation of cables etc. back-box KM-BBOX-01 is available.

This product has been created following the introduction of the Terrorism Act 2025 (Martyn’s Law)  brought in following the terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena where 22 people died and hundreds  more were injured, many under the age of 16. The act is designed to improve safety at public accessible  locations and introduces a duty of care for venue operators, requiring them to put proportionate  protective measures in place to safeguard the public. The Kentec Wireless Lockdown Notification  System provides the broadcasting of clear and concise voice messaging to building/site occupants in  the event of an emergency which requires Lockdown of the building/site. The system provides manual activation and broadcast of voice messages for Lockdown activation, covert lockdown activation, and All Clear events. 

The Wireless Lockdown Notification System is based on the established K-Mesh Wireless Fire Detection product range with minor modifications in functionality to meet the requirements for Lockdown notification. This provides users confidence in the performance and reliability of the system.
