Retractable cable has been designed for use on floating roof storage tanks. With floating roof storage tanks, they will continuously move up and down covering a considerable amount of distance so it’s necessary to provide a flexible electrical connection which can withstand the distance between the tank roof and tank top.

Depending on the size of the tank, different sizes of retractable cable is available and will help to maintain electrical contact between the junction boxes location on the tank top and the tank roof. A cable collector will have to be used with the retractable cable.
