Crowcon Nimbus – Infrared Flammable Gas Detector

Nimbus is a flameproof (Exd) infra-red flammable gas detector, which provides a cost effective solution for the protection of plant and personnel. It complies with a variety of worldwide standards and many field installations demonstrate it is built to last in all manner of environmental conditions. Gases measured include C1-C6 hydrocarbons, ethanol, ethylene and LPG.

• Constructed using highly durable marine-grade alloy with a tough polyester coating
• MTBF of 10 years
• Detects gas with optical system obscured by up to 90%, ‘dirty optics’ warning is provided at 75% obscuration
• IEC61508 SIL 2 compliant
• Local status light which identifies up to 22 detector conditions
• Simple calibration either remotely, or locally using a PC.
• Dual 4-20mA and RS-485 outputs ensure simple integration with new or existing installations.
• Modbus serial link enables detectors to be multi-dropped, allowing addressable detectors to be controlled and interrogated remotely
