Fire extinguisher I.D signs identify which substance is contained within a fire extinguisher and the type of fires each fire extinguisher should and should not be used on.

This sign shows any building occupant what types of fire the fire extinguisher it is above can and cannot be used on. Specific fire extinguishers are designed for use on different types of fire. For Example: A Water Fire Extinguisher should not be used on an Electrical fire as this could cause harm to the fire extinguisher user.

Fire extinguisher ID signs fulfil the requirements set out in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Act 2005 by providing both the fire extinguisher symbol and instructions on the class of fire it can and cannot be used on next to the relevant fire extinguisher.
