Monnex is a potassium bicarbonate based powder, recommended for large fires (class B and class C) where superior fire extinguishing qualities are required. Due to the low density of Monnex, it is not normally possible to charge an extinguisher to its nominal capacity. A 75% charge weight is considered average. Monnex is particularly effective against fires involving alcohols, ketones and esters.
