The CA738 is CAST protocol addressable sounder controller with one conventional sounder circuit, designed to control a small group of sounders / VADs. It is compatible with CAST ZFP/XFP panels and other ‘CAST’ compatible fire panels. It mounts on a standard 35mm deep UK double-gang back box being short circuit proof and monitored per BS5839-1.

‘CAST’ is the world’s most-advanced ‘distributed intelligence’ fire alarm system protocol. Conceived, designed and realised by C-TEC as part of a five-year, multi-million-pound project, it involved the creation of a powerful proprietary communication protocol (C-TEC Addressable System Technology, CAST) and multiple control panels & field devices.

• Allows a zone/circuit of conventional fire alarm sounders to be connected to a CAST protocol fire alarm system
• Onboard short circuit loop isolator
• Conventional sounder circuit is continually monitored for open and short circuit faults
• 3mA typical alarm current (530uA typical quiescent current) @ 22-40V DC
• Can provide up to 50mA output current (taken from the CAST addressable loop)
• Polling, sounder circuit active and sounder circuit fault indicators
