Aritech DB995IVAS 990 Series Mounting Base with Sounder/VAD and Isolator

The DB995IVAS is a loop-powered, 990 series compatible, sounder/beacon, combined with a standard 900 series mounting base. It contains a built in short circuit isolator for overload protection. The DB995IVAS is used to signal a fire alarm in enclosed areas, and may be used either with a detector fitted, or with a cap for operation as a stand-alone alarm device.

Sounder Support

The DB995IVAS sounders support 15 tone pairs, both evacuation and alert, configurable at installation time. Seven volume settings allow the sounder to be set between 60 and 90 dBA (tone dependant). Country specific regulatory tones are supported for Australia, Germany, New Zeeland, Sweden, The Netherlands and the UK.

Synchronisation

Synchronisation of audio-visual devices ensures the integrity of the signal, and is supported on the DB995IVAS. Tones from different sounders do not merge into one signal that could be mistaken for a different tone. It is also possible to synchronise with the sound and visual outputs of any other sounders and beacons connected to the same fire panel loop.

Self-Test

The beacon self-test is achieved by means of an LED monitoring circuit whilst the acoustic self-test means that the sounder listens to itself when it is switched on. If the LED fails during operation or no sound is detected within 5 seconds of the sounder being switched on, a fault signal is transmitted to the control panel.

Sounder, VAD or Both

Under normal conditions the DB995IVAS turns on the sounder and VAD at the same time, but it is also possible to control sounder to VAD separately from each other, simply by controls from the fire CIE.
