Fireclass 4B 4” Detector Base
The 4B 517.050.041 detector base is intended for use in installations where a short circuit isolator or continuity functionality is not required. It is compatible with the Ceiling Tile Adapter, which can reduce installation time by up to 30%. The base is designed to snap-fit into the Ceiling Tile Adapter for easy installation.
Additionally, the base can be securely fixed to a ceiling, electrical box, or deckhead mount using screws in a conventional manner. A park position feature allows the detector to be mechanically attached to the 4B base without establishing electrical connections, making it easier to test electronic-free bases. For optimal placement, the base should be installed with the park plunger facing the door or a frequently accessed area. This ensures that the LED indicator remains visible upon entry, in accordance with AS1670.1-2004.
