The Janus C4 Multi-Blade Controller is an access control system controller for use with Janus C4 host software.

The OSDP blade is a plug-in module that works in the multi-Controller. Each OSDP Blade enables the connection of four OSDP readers and two doors in JanusC4 access control systems.

The multi-controller allows the connection of up to four blades which may be any combination of 2 Door Blades (Part No: JC4-ADV-BL-2D), each supporting two doors and two readers, OSDP Blades (Part No: JC4-ADV-BL-OSDP), each supporting two doors and four readers, or I/O Blades (Part No: JC4-ADV-BL-IO16), each supporting up to eight supervised inputs and eight volt-free relay outputs.

Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) has been developed to provide enhanced security that older systems are not able to offer. As the only protocol that’s secure and open to communication between readers and controllers, it’s the preferred option for high-security environments.

The multi-controller has the capability to support the connection of up to 16 readers and 8 doors.

• Multi-Blade Controller can be powered using either a 12V external power supply (either 5A or 8A) or POE/POE+.
• Can be fitted in the standard Grosvenor enclosure (Part No: ADV-ENC-8A) or an alternative enclosure.
• Supports both IP and RS-485 host communications (note: if using RS-485 a line header will be required).
• Supports various card technologies, including proximity cards, smart cards, and even bio-metric readers, depending on the hardware used.
